That link doesn't claim the blockade caused all those 223k deaths. I'm sure it contributed but attributing them all to the blockade seems to be reaching.
In his YouTube channel, the author occasionally reviews and discusses public opinion polls, particularly American opinion. I am wondering what the public sentiment is regarding the Houthi shipping attacks and US (and British) strikes against the Houthi's. Are American even aware of them? Do people who support Hamas oppose US-led strikes? Do American old enough to experience an oil embargo support our strikes? Do Americans even have an idea of the economic and strategic importance of international shipping to the global order? Do some believe the two on-going military operations simply protect the interests of the few billionaires that actually own the container ships and oil tankers? Honestly, I do not hear many people talking about it, so I feel completely in dark with respect to what my fellow citizens are thinking and feeling here.
That's a good question. If the latest polls are to be believed, the overwhelming majority of Americans (74%) support strikes on the Houthis, although 61% believed that the Biden policy toward Iran has failed. However, I have heard that younger Americans (Gen Z) tend to hold the Houthis in higher regard.
