Small Attacks And Deep Strikes

The Ukrainian offensive continues with reports of smaller scale attacks at the three areas of focus: Bakhmut, Vuhlehar, and Orikhiv. Overall, no major changes in territorial control over the last 48-72 hours. Russian media is reporting that Ukrainian forces are massing for larger scale attacks that may kick off in the coming days.

Yevgheny Prigozhin who is on a PR tour of sorts, gave a talk where he mentioned that it’s too early to rejoice in the defeat of the Ukrainian offensive. He said that by his estimation, Russia has lost over 100 square kilometers of territory and that Ukrainian forces are advancing slowly but deliberately.

Deep strikes inside of Russian controlled territory have continued over the last few days and appear to have shifted to targeting troop concentrations. Notably, in the Kreminna direction, Major General Sukhrab Akhmedov, gathered a large number of troops together in the open before sending them to the front. As they waited, supposedly for more than two hours, they were spotted by Ukrainian assets and attacked with long range fires. Rybar reports that this attack killed more soldiers than the fighting at the front did that day.
