Thanks Adam. Interesting insight as always.

I am happy with the balance you're building, and it fits well into my media diet with the other creators I follow.

Your counter-terrorism finance stuff has depth and focus on a globally crucial subject that I don't get anywhere else. (Even the Substack AI-narrated written content is still essential listening for me, but I much prefer human voice content / podcasts even if reading written content.)

The look at Houthi financing was a good birthday present for me on the 15th!

If that content is easier to produce here as you're researching/writing for other outlets, I've no problem with you leaning more into it.

I do very much appreciate your perspective on broader topics too though. So I guess I'm happy with whatever works for you!

Have a great weekend!

I concede your point. The term “mainstream“ is a very subjective term and holds no definitive definition. My apologies.

I’m sorry, your comment that “CNN is as mainstream as it gets“ destroyed your credibility with me.

To be clear, I don’t use ‘mainstream’ like it’s a good thing. I’m using it in the sense that even the blandest and most banal of corporate media outlets is asking those sorts of questions. Given the diffusion of media viewership over the past decade, there is arguably no mainstream in the literal sense.

“CNN is about as mainstream as it gets.” Huh? That used to be true, but that hasn't been true for a while. A long while.

Mainstream as it gets with regard to narratives, not in terms of popularity or representation of American viewpoints.
