1. Signs Point To Iranian Escalation Through Syria

The Middle East Media Research Institute compiled a series of data points recently suggesting that Iran may be looking to escalate the war in Israel through their proxies in Syria.

They cited reports that Iran had ordered it’s men in Syria to raise the alert level and redeploy to the Syria-Israel border area and that hundreds of fighters had already made the move. Additionally, they pointed to the elevation of the alert level for the Syrian military and the fact that all leave was suspended.

MEMRI added that the IRGC Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani visited Syria on October 9th and 15th. They predict that Iran would prefer to open the Syrian front rather than one from Lebanon in order to protect it’s Hezbollah forces.

2. US Forces Attacked 27 Times In Iraq and Syria

Pentagon press secretary BG Pat Ryder said that US forces had been attacked 27 times since October 17th with either drones or rockets across Iraq and Syria. At least seven of these attacks happened after the US struck targets in Syria affiliated with the Iranian IRGC on Friday, October 27th. Ryder said that “we know that these are Iranian-backed militia groups that are supported by Iran, and of course, we hold Iran responsible for these groups.”

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin added, “if this doesn’t stop, then we will respond.”
